Sulfite based oxygen scavengers cannot be applied to high pressure boiler systems, because breakdown occurs to form corrosive hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. Also, sodium sulfite increases the amount of dissolved solids, as well as the conductivity, in the boiler water. The types of oxygen scavengers in use are Hydrazine, DEHA and Erythorbates.
As long as Water Services Ltd is not marketing Hydrazine, there are available
WSB DEHA (catalyzed DEHA) and WSB EB (catalyzed Erythorbates)
