Use

BDS 6010 is a non-foaming, highly effective non-oxidising, broad spectrum biocide for control of bacteria, fungi and algae (including Legionella) in aqueous based systems, such as recirculating cooling towers, air conditioning humidifiers, industrial process water etc.

Features

BDS 6100, when correctly dosed, is known to create a hostile environment against gram positive and gram negative bacteria including Legionella Pneumophila.

Development of resistance against the product has not been observed.

For specific control of Legionella Pneumophila, application of the biocide must be part of a recommended treatment programme including regular cleaning of the system and regular microbiological testing of the treated water.

BDS 6010 is of low oral and dermal toxicity as shown by extensive studies.

BDS 6010 is readily biodegradable thus poses no discharge problems.

Feeding

BDS 6010 should be regularly shot dosed into the system at the recommended intervals.

The treatment programme for control of Legionella Pneumophila in aqueous systems is as follows:

1. Sterilisation and cleaning of the system to be carried out at least every six months using BDS 6600 (or a suitable alternative).

2. Regular dosing with BDS 6010 as advised by Water Services Ltd personnel.

3. Full microbiological tests for the presence of Legionella Pneumophila bacteria to be carried out at least once every six months.

Handling precautions

BDS 6010 is mildly acidic. Wear suitable eye- and skin protection. In case of eye or skin contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.

Store under conditions of not less than 5°C temperature, and avoid elevated temperature. Minor spillages may be flushed away with copious amounts of water.
