Slow Release Chlorine Microbiocide Use BDS 6150 microbiocide is specifically designed to control growth of bacteria and algae that are commonly found in industrial cooling water systems.Features BDS 6150 is a free flowing powder containing a minimum of 17.8% available chlorine which is designed to dissolve slowly providing a continuous source of chlorine for controlling the growth of bacteria and algae in industrial recirculating water such as cooling towers, air washers and evaporative condensers. Feeding BDS 6150 should be immersed in the system at a point where adequate flow is maintained. Variations in water temperature, chlorine demand, and flow rate will affect the dissolution rate of the powder. During warmer seasons the growth of algae and bacteria may increase requiring upward adjustment of chlorine residuals. Initial dosage: Add the necessary amount until the chlorine demand is satisfied and a chlorine residual of 0.5 to 1.0 ppm (as determined by use of a chlorine test) is established. Subsequent dosage: Maintain a chlorine residual of 0.1 to 1.0 ppm. Handling precautions Contact with organic matter may cause fire –mix only with water. May cause eye damage. Do not get in eyes. If in eyes, rinse with cold water, call a physician. May cause burns on wet or broken skin. Rinse hands after handling. May be fatal or harmful if swallowed. Avoid inhalation of dust and vapours. Keep product dry – contact with water slowly liberates irritating and hazardous chlorine contained gases. Do not re-use container. Rinse thoroughly with water and discard in a safe place.
