Spray Pond The addition of piping and nozzles or motor driven spray modules to a cooling pond allows water to be sprayed into the surrounding air, which increases the rate of evaporation, and provides faster cooling using smaller ponds. Pond cooling is always more efficient when the pond is located in a naturally windy area: water losses by windage are high, however, and range between 1.0 and 5.0% of the recirculation rate. Impurities for surrounding area can also easily enter the pond, causing extremely difficult deposit control problems in the system. |
