WS DES-1550

Evaporator treatment

Use

WS DES-1550 deposit inhibitor is used to prevent scaling, sludge and corrosion in vapor recompression desalination units.

Features

WS DES-1550 is a blend of polyphosphate, specific polycarboxylated chelant, sodiumhydroxide and organic dispersants. The polyphosphate prevents from precipitation through complex formation with calcium and magnesium ions. The dispersants will make the removal of sludge easier and keep the tubes clean.

WS DES-1550 is non-volatile remains in the brine water.

Appearance : Clear colourless liquid

Density (kg/m 3 ) : 1210

pH : 7.4

Storage : Avoid freezing

Feeding

WS DES-1550 should be dosed continuously to the evaporators salt water inlet, using a metering pump or a flow meter.

Standard dosage is 20-30 ml. concentrated WS DES-1500 per ton produced water based on the rated capacity at normal operating temperature and a brine density of 1.5/32nds. If brine density is increased, the dosage should be increased proportionately.

WS DES-1550 should be dosed using a proportioning pump or by a gravity feed system through a flow meter. WS DES-1550 is diluted with fresh or seawater and fed continuously to the evaporator inlet line, directly to the evaporator shell or just prior to the preheaters depending on equipment.

WS DES-1550 could also be diluted with water. In such a case, add 20 litres of water per litre WS DES-1550.

Handling precautions

Protect eyes and skin against stains. Use safety goggles and rubber gloves. In case of spillage flush with water. Before use, review the Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
